The Staff Accountant will be responsible for performing advanced accounting functions to support accurate and timely financial reporting. This role assists with general ledger activities, accounts payable functions, month-end close processes, reconciliations, and preparation of financial statements. The Staff Accountant II also provides support for audits, compliance activities, and special projects while ensuring adherence to company policies, GAAP, and internal controls. They should have the ability to handle more complex tasks with minimal supervision.
Accounts Payable Process Owner
Maintain vendor records and vendor relationships, input vendor invoices and process vendor payments in accordance with agreed upon payment terms.
Identify and implement process efficiencies.
Manage corporate credit cards and related processes.
General Ledger Accounting
Prepare and record journal entries, accruals, and adjustments.
Perform balance sheet reconciliations and resolve variances in a timely manner.
Assist in month-end, quarter-end, and year-end close activities.
Monitor compliance with GAAP, company policies, and regulatory requirements.
Collaborate with accounts receivable and payroll teams to ensure accuracy of financial data.
Recommend and support process improvements to strengthen financial operations and internal controls.
Participate in special projects as assigned by management.
Financial Reporting and Analysis
Support the preparation of financial statements, schedules, and management reports.
Contribute to the budgeting and forecasting processes by gathering data and preparing analyses.
Analyze financial data to identify trends, anomalies, and opportunities for efficiency.
Financial Documentation and Record-Keeping
Perform other accounting duties as needed, contributing to documentation and accurate financial record-keeping.
Organize account and financial documentation and its supporting schedules.
Qualifications
3-4 years of general ledger accounting experience.
Strong knowledge of GAAP.
Advanced proficiency in Microsoft Excel (pivot tables, VLOOKUP, formulas).
Excellent analytical and problem-solving skills.
Experience with financial statement preparation.
Strong organizational skills with the ability to manage competing priorities.
High attention to detail and accuracy.
Ability to work independently and collaboratively in a fast-paced environment.
Effective written and verbal communication skills.

Preferred Qualifications
Experience working in multiple-entity environments.
Experience with ASC 606 Revenue Recognition.
Prior audit experience or exposure to internal controls.
Education and Training
Bachelor’s degree in Accounting, Finance, or related field required.
