As a Human Resources Generalist, you will carry out our Mission of Love by providing support in functional areas of Human Resources including but not limited to recruitment, retention and employment, personnel records, job evaluation, compensation management, HRIS work, training, and special projects.
Assists in the development and implementation of human resources policies and procedures. Carry out QAPI roles and responsibilities as assigned.
Identify opportunities for improvement through analysis of data, observation of operations, and consultation with leadership and staff.
Look for and share with leadership ideas for improvement in the organization.
Our Human Resources Generalist is responsible for the following :
- Responsible for all new hire processes.
- Review and recommend candidates prior to job offer.
- Conducts new employee orientation, screens employees through background checks, and tracks the progress of all new hire onboarding.
- Responsible for maintaining the HRIS, including all benefit, employment status, new hire, and termination changes, as well as compiling reports, providing analysis, and retrieving records.
- Serve as the campus resource for Workday questions / issues.
- Develop and participate in the implementation of departmental goals and objectives, recommend new approaches.
- Implement and interpret policies and procedures for directors, managers, and employees.
- Provide support and direction to Directors and management team concerning employee relations to resolve problems and provide knowledge on employment laws and regulations.
- In conjunction with Human Resources Director, resolves employee relations and inquiries related to HR issues, staffing, compensation, benefits, counseling's, and exit interviews.
- Answer the telephone in a polite and professional manner.
- Serve as the primary contact for employee benefit questions, issues or concerns, typically in regards to eligibility, coverage, or claims of a similar routine and complex matter and respond, investigate, resolve or forward to appropriate staff member to support employee's needs.
- Schedules and implements events for the campus, including monthly employee appreciation events, tracking and executing employee anniversary cards and vouchers, assists with Wellness Rewards program, and the implementation of new campus events.
- Serves as a point of reference for interpretation and guidance for benefit plans including medical, FMLA, STD, and 403b plans.
Maintain worker's compensation documentation and serve as a point of reference for employees with worker's comp concerns.
- Counsels' employees with retirement inquires and coordinate pension information with corporate campus.
- Research and gather information needed for unemployment compensation requests and participate in unemployment hearings.
- Organize and maintain confidentiality of all employee files.
What You Have :
- A minimum of a bachelor's degree in human resources required.
- A minimum of two years of experience in a human resources position.
- Must possess excellent computer skills including Word, Excel, and experience with an HRIS.
- Experience with Workday HRIS helpful.
