General Description
Effectively leads a team of maintenance personnel whose primary goal is to perform multiple assigned functions in the landside and facility maintenance division.
Develops and oversees the day-to-day execution of assigned work plan, strategic planning, budget planning and performance output using the enterprise maintenance management software.
Maintains complete accountability of employee performance to ensure full compliance with regulatory, CODE and SOP Requirements.
Supervision Received
This position requires work to be completed independently with minimum supervision. Direction received focuses on strategic objectives and is typically collaborative in nature.
This makes policy recommendations and would be considered "upper-middle" management.
RESPONSIBILITIES
Essential Duties and Responsibilities
- Plans, monitors, evaluates and documents facilities management work orders supporting the landside area (SIDA-fence, DOA controlled buildings, (non CPTC) roadways, landscaping, curb fronts, FOD, trash, snow and ice removal (seasonal).
- Directs and manages landside team to include development of strategic plans, budgets, and work initiatives / assignments.
Supervises and evaluates assigned staff, timely address and document all employee concerns, oversee and approve all employee counseling and disciplinary action.
- Ensure timely submission of required ad-hoc / annual reports including but not limited to performance evaluations, accident reporting, etc.
- Drives performance, productivity and accountability through measurable, results oriented performance metrics.
- Provides leadership for staff creating preventative and planned work orders in maintain DOA facilities.
- Oversees manager's and supervisor's management of landside facilities maintenance crews.
- Ensures all tasks are properly planned, executed and documented in Maximo.
- Develops and manages annual budget.
- Develops and nurtures business relationships with airline stakeholders and other critical terminal operators.
- Participates in meetings and makes presentations regarding planned projects to airport staff, airline representatives, trade groups, academic groups and city officials;
prepared various charts, maps, graphical data for presentation purposes. Interacts with government officials, airlines, planning consultants and airport management in the performance of assigned duties.
- Provides support and oversight for the safe completion of all activities performed.
- Monitors project schedules, budgets, expenditures, staffing levels to ensure work is being completed efficiently and as projected.
- Ensures the business needs of the Airport are continually blended with environmental compliance requirements in the planning and support of activities involving capital projects, and overall operation and maintenance of the Airport.
- Validates that all projects / contracts conform to established procurement guidelines.

Provides guidance to a varied group of technical and professional employees engaged in DOA wide and / or policy advisory driven activity.
Guidance should typically be general in nature and focused on objectives, desired results, process improvement and policies / procedures.
Knowledge, Skills and Abilities
- Ability to apply sound analytical thinking to solve technical and / or process improvement challenges
- Ability to manage multiple project, competing priorities and meet deadlines
- Strong working knowledge of computers and a variety of software including MS word, Excel, PowerPoint and computer aided design (CAD) applications;
knowledge of construction documents and design for utility and airport support systems.
- Knowledge of managerial tasks and processes; project / construction management, finance / accounting
- Knowledge of aviation industry and airport planning termination and acronyms.
QUALIFICATIONS
Minimum Qualifications Education and Experience
- Bachelor's degree required.
- 5 years of experience in landscaping, facility management, or similar area.
- 5 years of supervisory experience in facility management or landscaping.
Licensures and Certification
- Valid driver's license is required
- Ability to acquire and maintain DOA security clearance badge required
- AMA existing or with 3 months of hire required
- Preferred certifications : Facility Management Professional (FMP), Certified Facility Manager (CFM), Accredited Airport Executive (A.
A.E.), or Project Management Professional (PMP)

- This position requires the ability to work in inclement weather and in varying temperatures.
