Director of Staff Development - LVN

We are looking for a Director of Staff Development to join our team! Requirements : Valid LVN License in good standing; DSD certificate collaborating with the interdisciplinary team, treating all residents with dignity and respect, communicating effectively with all staff, residents and family members.

Some of the duties include :

  • Develop and monitor the goals and objectives of the in-service trainings for the facility
  • Interviewing, hiring and orienting new employees
  • Creating and maintaining records and reports pertinent to in-service requirements
  • Partnering with Administrator and DON to meet daily staffing and PPD goals
  • Reviewing and creating daily staffing schedule
  • Attending meetings and serving on committee's as required
  • Ensuring that all staff attend and participate in in annual OSHA and CDC in-service training programs for hazard communication, TB management, and bloodborne pathogens standard
  • Responsible for providing direct patient care when not performing DSD duties
  • Representing the department at and participate in top level meetings
  • Implementing recommendations from the Quality Assessment and Assurance Committee as they relate to the educational needs of the facility
  • Maintaining a positive and calm disposition when communicating with staff, residents, family, visitors, government entities, etc.
  • Following Infection and Control policies and procedures
  • Reporting any occupational exposures to blood, body fluids, or other hazardous materials to a supervisor immediately
  • Protecting each resident's file and data with confidentially per HIPAA standards
  • Abiding with all facility policies and procedures including not disclosing user ID codes and passwords Requirements :
  • LVN license
  • Experience in a skilled nursing facility
  • APIC Certification in infection control
