The Director of Design & Estimating for our Cabinets division is responsible for all production work completed by the Design & Estimating team.
They provide strategic direction for the department to improve efficiency, quality of work and level of service. This is a hands-on leader who will also perform all design and estimating functions as needed.
PRIMARY DUTIES AND RESPONSIBILITIES :
- Ensures that all design work is completed to the highest standard
- Ensures that working processes (planning, testing, documentation, etc) are efficient and adhered to by the Design team
- Makes recommendations for process improvements
- Ensures that Design team is aware of trends and improvements in both techniques and technology that are relevant to the company, and which will contribute to the business and its clients
- Maintains communication and relationships between the Design team, and other departments
- Manages design bid logs in CRM (
- Provides effective leadership to team members including performance management, coaching, training and conflict resolution
- Performs other duties as assigned.
KNOWLEDGE, SKILLS AND ABILITIES :
- 5+ years’ experience within a Design and Estimating team of similar size and scope as Primera
- 2+ years’ leadership experience, preferably within a Design and Estimating team or similar environment
- Advanced proficiency with 20 / 20 design software and strong computer knowledge of PC-based software
