Job Description
We are seeking an exceptional Development Officer to join our dynamic team. ABVI has offices in Columbia, Greenville, and Charleston.
This hybrid position allows you to work partially remote and strategically reside within our statewide service area .
The ideal candidate will be responsible for managing a diverse portfolio of donors, cultivating philanthropic relationships, and securing financial support for ABVI.
This role involves strategic planning, donor engagement, and collaboration with the Chief Development Officer and the Chief Advancement Officer to contribute to organizational growth and fundraising success.
Required Competencies :

- Excellent interpersonal and communication skills, both verbal and written.
- Strong organizational and time-management abilities.
- Ability to work collaboratively within a team environment.
- Proficiency in fundraising software and Microsoft Office Suite.
- Understanding of fundraising best practices.
- Strategic thinking and problem-solving skills.
- Attention to detail and ability to manage multiple projects simultaneously.
- Self-motivated and proactive approach to work.
Essential Duties :
- Manage a portfolio of 150+ donors, developing individualized plans for each.
- Increase donor pipeline from Upstate, Midlands, and PeeDee regions.
- Secure mid-level annual gifts ($500+) to major gifts ($5,000+) in line with ABVI’s fundraising strategy.
- Represent ABVI at statewide community events, providing presentations as needed.
- Provide donor prospecting and research support for the Chief Advancement Officer and the Chief Executive Officer.
- Assist in developing strategies for existing / new cultivation events and fundraising initiatives.
License / Certification (Preferred) :
Certified Fundraising Executive or Certification in Fundraising Management.
