Lead Systems Engineer

Job Description

An Insight Global client in the entertainment and production industry is looking to add a Lead Systems Engineer to their team to manage and oversee their storage migration project and the shift to a hybrid linux / windows environment.

The organization is primarily a windows environment and is looking to build out a new process around spinning up and deploying linux workstations.

On the storage side, they are currently on Pixit and will need to lead point with the POC to move to Dell, HPE, or iXsystems.

This resource will also be responsible for orchestrating storage backups. This role is also looking for someone with basic networking knowledge to be able to help with escalations in their Irvine data center if needed.

This resource will lead a team of 2-3 engineers and reports into the Director of IT Technology. This position is mostly remote but must be able to go into the data center in Irvine, CA as needed roughly a few times per month.

$120,000 to $150,000 - Exact compensation may vary based on several factors, including skills, experience, and education.

Must Haves :

Previous experience as a lead spearheading a storage project including proof of concept, vendor selection, and managing a storage implementation or migration end to end

oExperience with storage vendors such as Pixit, Dell, HPE, iXsystems

oOrchestrating storage back ups and archives

Experience creating and deploying linux packages both onprem and in the cloud

oExperience using terraform for deployment automation

oExperience with ansible for infrastructure management

oExperience with proxmox of a similar virtual environment

Basic network switch knowledge if needed to help out in the data center
