The role
The Advanced Development team at Luxinar are tasked with developing the next generation of laser sources and to investigate new applications, smarter products and processes.
To do this, they will need to tackle a multitude of challenges, applying a range of skills and tools. We are looking to grow the team so we need enthusiastic individuals who have abilities to succeed in this environment.
The work is varied as well as challenging, ranging from laboratory-based studies to computer modelling / analysis. Drawing on a wide skill set, the successful candidate will be an Innovation champion, a role model for others, tasked with delivering the goals of the Advanced Development team.
They will need to be an excellent communicator (both written and verbal) dealing with stakeholders both in and outside of the Company.
They will be expected to be a change agent, keeping an eye on the latest developments and trends within the laser community and allied industries.
Their drive and innovation will help develop the Advanced Development portfolio.
What you’ll need to bring
The diverse nature of the portfolio of projects will mean that the successful candidate will need to offer :
- Likely to be educated to degree level in a physical science or engineering, ideally 2 : 1 level or above
- Continued enthusiasm to learn
- Willingness to explore new challenges
- Good interpersonal and communication skills
- Team player
- Tenacity to solve problems over long and short timescales
- Flexibility in work patterns and location
