Job Title : Outreach & Community Initiatives Coordinator Department / Office : Admissions Location : Main Campus- Argyle Reports To : Assistant Director of Outreach and Community Initiative FSLA Non- Exempt Position Type : Full Time Job Description Job Purpose : The Outreach & Community Initiatives Coordinator is responsible for supporting the work of the Assistant Director.
This includes reaching out to organizations, conducting presentations, managing prospective student contacts, planning events, and also supporting the work of the overall admission team.
This position requires exceptional customer service, flexibility, and strong organizational skills. The position will report to the Assistant Director of Outreach & Community Initiatives.
Traveling through the Chicagoland area for visits is required for this role and requires individuals to be on-site. Responsibilities :
- This position will work closely with the admission department on opportunities to generate leads and with all academic and administrative units to develop and implement an agenda of excellence, innovation, and production of knowledge.
- Create presentations and / or attend events representing St. Augustine College to a prospective student audience and on occasion for networking.
Share feedback from sessions with appropriate team members and supervisors.
- Ensure that all prospective student contacts are entered in the Slate CRM so that they can be communicated with and tracked as they engage with the college.
- Assist with the planning and execution of on-campus events.
- Develop email and call campaigns for prospective partner organizations.
- Keep the supervisor apprised of prospective schools / students, and other relevant issues on a need-to-know basis.
- Assist with coverage in the Admissions department.
- Maintain flexibility in work schedule to accommodate weekend / evening events and outreach activities.
- Experience working with academic institutions, including an understanding of institutional hierarchies and funding sources (preferred)
- Strong skills in strategic development including planning, delegating, and program building.
- Ability to work independently and possesses an entrepreneurial drive.
- Excellent written and oral communication skills with an ability to make public presentations.
- Demonstrate commitment to cultural diversity and the ability to work with individuals or groups from diverse backgrounds
- Adhere to University policies and procedures
- Assume other duties as assigned by the supervisor
Job Qualifications
- High school diploma or equivalent.
- Experience in a customer service role.
- Knowledge of higher education enrollment and financial aid, specifically the recruitment and enrollment of high school students.
- Excellent interpersonal / human relations skills with a keen ability to coordinate and collaborate effectively with the college department and effectively seek resolutions to problems and conflicts with staff and students.
- Bilingual / bicultural competencies with oral and written fluency in English and Spanish
- Effective oral and written communication in both English and Spanish.
- Expertise working in a computer-driven workplace.
- Excellent customer service skills.
