Piping Designer

Job Title : Piping Designer

Location : Salt Lake City, UT

Duration : Contract or Contract to Directs, long term

Pay range : $35-$50 / hr

Job Responsibilities :

The Designer / Drafter is responsible for updating unit P&IDs, piping ISOs, piping design work, creating construction drawings for capital and expense projects.

The Designer / Drafter also supports the Training Department and the HSE Department to update and create training materials as well as creating and updating drawings for PSM compliance.

Another essential duty is to provide technical support and recommendations necessary for engineers, operations, and maintenance personnel with regard to project design and construction so that it is consistent with best engineering practices, codes and standards, and the refinery safety policies.

Day to day responsibilities :

Create and update unit P&IDs for changes and new construction

Perform updates to unit PI&Ds, PFD, and ISOs in support of PSM processes

Create and update unit piping ISOs for changes and new construction

Create and update unit training drawings

Provide technical support to operation, maintenance, and engineers for project design and construction

Work with the TAR Team to create piping and structural packages for turnaround projects.

Provide technical assistance to other AutoCAD and CAD Worx users.

Managing refinery drawings vault and AutoCAD system.

Job Requirements :

Must be proficient in EDOC, AutoCAD, CADWorx, Excel, and MS Word.

Must be proficient in piping design work and have 8+years AutoCAD / CadWorx experience.

Must be able to interpret application of and apply piping specifications to piping design.

Must have strong organizational skills, data base management skills and the ability to work independently on multiple projects.

Preferred to have experience in electrical and instrumentation design drawings (Single line, Wiring Diagrams, Loop Diagrams)

Preferred to have experience in structural and civil drawings.
