The Impact You’ll Make in this Role
As a Director Capital Equipment Procurement, you will have the opportunity to tap into your curiosity and collaborate with some of the most innovative and diverse people around the world.
Here, you will make an impact by :
- Supervising a global team of Strategic Sourcing sub-category personnel ranging from Analysts to Managers
- Interpreting global industry trends, customer requirements, and business objectives to define objectives and deliver results for Capital Equipment Procurement
- Interacting with several departments within 3M Procurement, Engineering and Manufacturing Technology, Divisions, staff functions, and others
- Collaborating internally and externally to drive cost reduction, working capital improvement, contract execution, supplier selection and category strategies for Capital Equipment purchases
- Driving procurement strategies and supplier engagements to ensure achievement of business objectives
Your Skills and Expertise
To set you up for success in this role from day one, 3M requires (at a minimum) the following qualifications :
- Bachelor’s degree or higher (completed and verified prior to start)
- Ten (10) years of experience in Strategic Procurement and / or Capital Equipment Management in a private, public, government or military environment
- Five (5) years of prior Supervisory experience
Additional qualifications that could help you succeed even further in this role include :
- Master's degree from an accredited institution.
- Experience in Capital Equipment strategic procurement.
- Experience in driving category strategies across different market types.
- Experience working cross functionally, including with Senior Executive Leadership.

Travel : May include up to 15 % domestic or international
