Description
The Communication Assistant requires the ability and desire to learn how to :
- Recognize important, newsworthy information
- Evaluate timeliness of news and the release of information
- Convert information into usable written and visual posts quickly but accurately
- Provide a McCarthy Center voice to news items
- Write coherently, concisely based on the medium’s parameters
- Navigate, post and use all aspects of Facebook, Twitter, Instagram, and Wordpress
- Write articles for enews, e-blasts, Annual Impact Report, other publications
Skills required :
Solid writing, factually correct, witty style
Understanding of basic online graphic standards
Basic photography (composition, photo-editing / correction) - desirable
Familiarity with social media scheduling applications e.g. Hootsuite
Time required : 8-12 hours week / negotiable. Start date negotiable
