Description
Responsibilities and Duties :
Conduct preliminary research about USF affiliates and events to be highlighted in university-wide communications
Contact USF students, alumni, donors, and scholarship recipients and arrange 1 : 1 interviews informing feature articles and other writing assignments
Write, edit, and tailor articles with an eye toward university philanthropy while meeting publication standards
Engage in creative marketing and video production, particularly creating and editing short videos for social media
Populate and edit flash content used for building e-newsletters and social media posts
Connect and collaborate with university staff on cross-departmental projects as needed (i.e. alumni engagement, stewardship, and other academic programs / departments)
Assist in supplying and compiling visual assets for publication purposes (i.e. campus photography and graphic design work)
Opportunities for professional development include training in Salesforce, Qualtrics, Asana, Slack, and other professional systems.
Coordinate schedule and project deadlines using division-wide communication tools (Slack and Asana)
Respond to all inquiries in a polite and timely manner
Administrative tasks and general office support; track marketing metrics of engagement, data entry, records review, proofreading, filing, and other duties as assigned.
Occasional participation in departmental meetings
Qualifications :
Must be an undergraduate student with Federal Work Study eligibility
Excellent writing, editing and proofreading skills
Experience directing and creating original video and user generated content to increase reach
Interest in writing / storytelling, marketing and / or communications
Must demonstrate strong interpersonal and time management skills
Ability to manage confidential information and adhere to university privacy policies
Extremely detail oriented and attentive to accuracy; effective multitasking with an attention to details such as accurate reporting of numbers and outcomes
Responsible, courteous, and self-motivated; demonstrates the ability to complete projects in a timely fashion
Consistently take initiative and work both independently and within group settings with little supervision
Ability to stay focused on large and possibly routine tasks
Well-versed in Microsoft Office, Google Suite, Canva, and other similar software is preferred
Adherence to office attendance standards : Being on time, on task and on schedule
