In the Ford Advanced Driver Assistance Systems (ADAS) program, Ford’s Safety Electronics team designs and develops hardware, functional models, and software that provide Best in Class behavior for features like Adaptive Cruise Control, Automatic Emergency Braking, Cross Traffic Alert, Active Park Assist and 360 Camera Systems.

The ADAS simulation and Virtualization team supports all software development activities by providing the necessary tools to generate and test code.

In this position

The individual in this role is responsible for developing and maintaining Ford’s next generation ADAS simulation solution to support Ford’s ADAS software development.

The individual will also work closely with team members to collaborate with our suppliers and other relevant Ford teams to meet the needs from Ford’s ADAS software developers in SAFe Agile working environment.

What you'll do...

  • Contribute to the development of Ford next generation ADAS simulator using C++.
  • Contribute to the development of ADAS simulation methods, processes, tools and documentation to integrate multiple ADAS features to support feature design, verification and validation.
  • Contribute to the effort to maintain the simulator operation on Ford’s ADAS software CI / CD pipeline.
  • Support the continuous integration efforts to maintain the seamless integration between the simulator and ADAS software to support the delivery of ADAS features.
  • Support ongoing CAE correlation efforts to demonstrate simulation findings to the end customers.
  • Be able to work in SAFe Agile software development process.

You'll have

  • Bachelor’s degree in Electrical Engineering, Computer Science, Computer Engineering, or related field.
  • 2+ years of experience with programming in C++ (11 or above), Python or other Object-Oriented Programming (OOP) languages in Windows or Linux environments.

Ideally you'll have

  • 1+ years of experience with ADAS simulation software (CarMaker, CarSim or similar).
  • 1+ years of Experience with Linux or Virtual Machines.
  • 2+ years of Experience with networking (TCP / IP).
  • Experience with remote sensing systems such as radar, camera, LIDAR or ultrasonic.
  • Experience with target identification and classification, path prediction, and target threat assessment or other ADAS / AV Sensing algorithms.
  • Basic understanding of Vehicle network (CAN, CAN FD, TCP / IP, FPD Link, SPI5, etc.).
  • Basic understanding of design, development, or testing with ADAS / AV technologies.
  • Basic understanding of Robot Operating System (ROS).
  • Basic understanding of deploying software on cloud environment (GCP, AWS, Azure or similar).
  • Basic understanding of dashboard software (SuperSet, QlikSense or similar).
  • Basic understanding of vehicle level or system level Automotive design, development, or testing.
