What you need to know about this position
The candidate will perform food safety research related lab activities. They will work as part of a team to assist with daily activities, lab testing, and managing work priorities to accomplish team goals, as well as independently when applicable.
How you will contribute
Research, design, and execute challenge studies, survival studies, spoilage studies, and thermaltreatment studies to assess safety of new products and processes.
Laboratory management of daily workload including medium preparation, aseptic sample setup.
Analyze experimental data, write internal and external reports, and communicate results.
Maintain culture collection, lab stock, and equipment and act as team site safety lead.
Identifies and communicates results that require further investigation or discussion with Manager / Supervisor.
Conduct and maintainPEM program testing at the Lab.
Successfully participates in completion of proficiency testing samples.
Submits accurate and timely reports based on the analysis.
Maintain / certificate Labequipment.
Maintain a clean and orderly environment.
What you will bring

Operate laboratory equipment including autoclaves, analytical balance, pH meter, and microscopes.
Calibration of equipment including thermometers, temperature probes, and weight sets
Quality monitoring which includes biological indicators, media controls, cultures, etc.
Routine preventive maintenance such as daily cleaning, waste disposal, and equipment maintenance.
Clean and sterilize lab glassware and materials for testing.
SOPs (standard operating procedures) updates.
Inventory, receive, and stock materials and supplies for laboratory use.
More about this role
Required Experience :
Minimum of 2 years’ experience in microbiology food laboratory testing.
Knowledge of Microbiology Laboratory Techniques.
Knowledge on Microbiology programs (GLP, Pathogen Environmental Monitoring, Quality policies) preferred.
Excellent written and oral communication skills; able to effectively communicate with internal and external customers.
Digitally savvy & data driven mindset.
Education :
AAS / BS in Microbiology, Food Safety, Food Science, or related field.
Work schedule :
On site (East Hanover, New Jersey) M-F
