Human Resources Information Specialist - People Team

The Fund for Public Health in New York City (FPHNYC) is a 501(c)3 non-profit organization that is dedicated to the advancement of the health and well-being of all New Yorkers.

To this end, in partnership with the New York City Department of Health and Mental Hygiene (DOHMH), FPHNYC incubates innovative public health initiatives implemented by DOHMH to advance community health throughout the city.

It facilitates partnerships, often new and unconventional, between government and the private sector to develop, test, and launch new initiatives.

These collaborations speed the execution of demonstration projects, effect expansion of successful pilot programs, and support rapid implementation to meet the public health needs of individuals, families, and communities across New York City.

POSITION OVERVIEW

This role offers an excellent opportunity for a motivated, data and process driven professional to support the HR department.

This position requires knowledge of HRIS systems and excellent data analysis and organization skills. The Human Resource Information System (HRIS) Specialist will support and maintain the organization's HRIS applications and modules.

RESPONSIBILITES

System Administration :

  • Oversees and maintains optimal function of the HRIS, which may include customization, development, maintenance, and upgrade to applications, systems, and modules.
  • Provides technical support, troubleshooting, and guidance to HRIS users.
  • Understand the system functionality of current system (Ceridian Dayforce) and act as a trusted advisor to functional business partners / leads by providing knowledge and insights of Dayforce capabilities and other related initiatives.
  • Develop SOPs for all HR processes for HRIS system, identifying accountability and decision making and understanding how the system supports the process.
  • Manages permissions, access, personalization, and similar system operations and settings for HRIS users.
  • Manage day to day system administration and data integrity.
  • Perform continuous data audits and identify opportunities for added controls.
  • Manages the employee lifecycle and all employee data transactions in Dayforce.
  • Serves as lead representative and liaison between HR, information services, external vendors, and other stakeholders for HRIS design and implementation projects.
  • Collaborates with HR staff to identify system improvements and enhancements; recommends and implements solutions.

Training and Ongoing Support :

  • Develop training materials and user guides for every module of DayForce.
  • Communicate and facilitate training for end users and HR partners on system functionality, workflows, processes, and enhancements.
  • Recognize opportunities to decrease manual processes and automate.
  • Independently manage HR projects to completion.
  • Identify gaps and partner with key members / partners to drive change.
  • Takes a hands-on approach to troubleshooting complex process and functional issues and manages these through to resolution.

Data Integrity and Reporting :

  • Ensure that data structure and data input in DayForce meet the standards.
  • Ensures system compliance with data security and privacy requirements.
  • Maintains knowledge of trends and developments in HRIS providers, vendors, and technology.
  • Work with HRIS and HR leads to develop dashboards and reports.
  • Conduct deep HR data analytics to drive HR dashboard and insights.
  • Provide support in any ad hoc data reporting and analytics.
  • Performs other duties as required.

Required Skills :

  • Excellent verbal and written communication skills.
  • Excellent interpersonal and technical support skills.
  • Excellent organizational skills and attention to detail.
  • Proficient with Microsoft Office Suite or related software.
  • Familiarity with human resources policies and procedures to ensure the HRIS meets organizational needs and goals.
  • Must be comfortable working independently and making decisions.
  • Thorough understanding of all areas of information systems with a highly technical understanding of at least one commercial HRIS product.
  • Ability to keep information confidential.
  • Strong analytical and problem-solving skills.
  • Thrive in a fast-paced environment.
  • Open to change and new information and ideas and adapt to the same.
  • Must encourage and foster cooperation and teamwork.
  • Requires strong communication and analytical skills.

Qualifications :

  • 3+ years' experience in a Human Resources Information systems role required.
  • Bachelor's degree in information technology or related field required.
  • Proficiency in Ceridian Dayforce preferred.
  • Ability to determine function needs and system requirements.
  • Strong understanding of Human resources processes and data, HRIS database design, structure, functions, and processes and have experience with database tools (must be systems minded).
  • Experience in creating training materials and user guides and supporting delivery of training.
  • Strong data analysis and insights.
  • Experience in process mapping preferred.
  • Excellent attention to detail, balanced with an appreciation of the bigger-picture goals and objectives.
  • Strong desire to learn and grow in a fast pace, quickly growing environment.

SALARY AND BENEFITS

FPHNYC offers a comprehensive benefits package

  • Salary range is $60,000 to $70,000

ADDITIONAL INFORMATION

Hybrid schedule : Three days remote and two days in office.
