Description

Job Responsibilities

  • Operate independently to deliver direct naturalistic behavioral instruction within play-based activities as written in the treatment plan in a group or individual setting with the preschool children
  • Implements positive behavior support plans as written and participates in treatment planning
  • Acts as part of the preschool planning team that evaluates progress of pilot preschool initiative
  • With feedback from supervisor, independently develop program lessons, activities, and materials to be used for daily activities
  • Attends supervision, departmental staff meetings and participates in regularly scheduled staff training
  • Collects multiple measures of observational data for the children attending the therapeutic preschool program and maintains program data sheets and materials
  • Acts as a member of the therapeutic preschool program clinical team in order to evaluate program goals and positive behavior support plans, as well as review the individual progress of each child
  • Communicates directly with families to provide caregiver training and information on local resources
  • Other duties and responsibilities as assigned

Qualifications

Bachelor of Science and 0 to 1 year of experience or equivalent combination of education and experience is required.

Instructors for the Early Childhood Program shall meet one of the following :

1) Have a certification as a Board Certified assistant Behavior Analyst.

2) Have a certification as a Registered Behavior Technician.

3) Have a certification as a Board Certified Autism Technician.

4) Have a behavior analysis certification from an organization that is accredited by the National Commission for Certifying Agencies or the American National Standards Institute.

5) Have a high school diploma or the equivalent of a high school diploma and have completed a 40-hour training covering the RBT Task List as evidenced by a certification that includes the name of the responsible trainer, who is certified as a BCBA or BCaBA.

6) Have a minimum of 2 years of experience in providing ABA services and a minimum of 40 hours of training related to ABA approved by the Department or provided by a continuing education provider approved by the Behavior Analyst Certification Board.

Must pass Pennsylvania’s Child Protective Services Act (also known as Act 73) background checks, within 30-90 days of employment.

This position is contingent upon grant funding.
