Responsibilities
- The Nursing Scheduling Coordinator’s main function is to supervise the process that ensures consistent nursing staffing within the facility.
- works with the RN / LPN / CNA staff to coordinate work schedules, time off, and shift coverage when staff members are ill.
- must have the ability to utilize the On-shift scheduling system.
- superior communication skills are necessary for promoting a team-oriented environment among all staff.
- The Nursing Scheduling Coordinator is also expected to manage the staffing schedule and to oversee the process and is expected to maintain the staffing schedule for each shift and monitor overtime utilization.
- The Nursing Scheduling Coordinator communicates key issues to the DON for support and guidance.
Qualifications
- CNA certification preferred.
- Experience in a long-term care facility preferred.
- Prior scheduling experience preferred.
- Knowledge of scheduling software is encouraged.
- Good communication, computer, and mathematical skills.
- Must be able to read, speak, and understand the English language.
Knowledge, Skills, and Abilities
- Ability to read, write, and spell and to understand and follow both written and oral directions.
- Ability to communicate and work well with residents and staff members.
- Ability to speak the English language in an understandable manner.
- Ability to see and hear or use prosthetics that will enable these senses to function adequately to assure that the requirements of this position can be fully met.
- Ability to relate to and work with the ill, disabled, elderly, mentally ill, emotionally upset and at times hostile and violent residents within the facility.
- Ability to remain current in practice as applicable to job.
