If you’re passionate about defending individuals and safeguarding their futures, and you’re comfortable managing a caseload primarily consisting of DUIs, misdemeanors, and low-level felonies.
In this role, you’ll apply your criminal law experience to manage a diverse caseload of over 60 cases, ranging from misdemeanor to felony charges in Justice, Superior, and Municipal Courts across Maricopa County ONLY .
You’ll have the flexibility to work from home or the office , and mileage for court appearances will be reimbursed. Your responsibilities will include reviewing and enhancing memos prepared by our paralegal, using your negotiation skills to meet client needs, recording video updates on case specifics, and offering clear legal options to help clients make informed decisions.
Additionally, our attorneys are expected to adhere to their Clio task list and maintain an average of 30 productive hours per week.
This position offers a competitive starting annual salary of $80,000-$105,000. Potential for monthly bonuses based on your efficiency and the results you achieve.

Compensation :

Responsibilities :
- Manage a caseload of 60+ cases, covering misdemeanor to felony charges in Justice, Superior, and Municipal Courts within Maricopa County exclusively.
- Create detailed case notes, including custom video recordings for clients to ensure accurate documentation.
- Communicate compassionately and effectively with clients, opposing counsel, co-workers, supervisors, and other stakeholders.
- Utilize technology tools such as Clio Manage, Zoom, Outlook, Slack, and Loom on a daily basis.
- Review legal memos, deviation requests, plea agreements, and sentencing recommendations to stay informed on case specifics.
- Draft and argue evidentiary motions, address legal issues, and represent clients in trial proceedings.
- Attend weekly management meetings to provide updates on case progress and discuss strategies.
- Follow a daily task list to ensure 30 productive work hours per week are completed.
Qualifications :
- The ideal candidate for this Criminal Defense Attorney position in Phoenix, AZ, US must have a strong background in criminal law and a minimum of 2 years of experience working as a criminal defense lawyer, public defender, or prosecutor.
- Demonstrated experience in handling criminal cases is a requirement, including successfully completing 100 or more change of pleas and sentencings at the felony and / or misdemeanor levels.
- Candidates must have proven experience with criminal matters, including successfully completing 5 or more bench or jury trials at either a felony or misdemeanor level.
- Strong analytical skills and problem-solving abilities are essential for this role.
- Excellent written and verbal communication skills are a necessity.
- Applicants must be in good standing with the State Bar of Arizona.
- Possession of a Juris Doctorate Degree from an ABA-accredited School is mandatory for this position.

We are a small law firm in its fifth year of practice. You would be working alongside a team of Owner / Attorney, paralegal, legal assistant, operations manager, marketing assistant, and client services manager.
We specialize in helping keep good people out of jail who are accused of felony and misdemeanor crimes. Our focus is on helping deserving clients who made a 5-minute mistake and don’t deserve to have their mistakes define who they are for the rest of their lives.
We work on every case with the goal of dismissing all charges through either legal dismissals or diversion alternatives.
If not, we aim to reduce as many charges and negative consequences. Finally, we look to trial as a last resort after other options have been exercised.
