Real Estate Accountant I Job Summary : We are seeking a detail-oriented and experienced Real Estate Accountant to join our team.

The successful candidate will be responsible for managing and reconciling financial statements, drafting journal entries, recording transactions, and preparing financial statements and board meeting materials for assigned clients.

Proficiency in accounting software and the ability to review financial information for accuracy are essential for this role.

Key Responsibilities :

• Journal Entries :
• Draft routine non-cash journal entries, including transactional, monthly, and quarterly entries.
• Ensure all journal entries are accurately recorded in the accounting software.
• Real Estate Accounting :
• Commercial and / or residential real estate accounting and reporting experience.
• Reconciliation : Reconcile numerous bank statements and complex brokerage statements on a monthly basis.Ensure accuracy and completeness in all reconciliations.
• Transaction Recording :
• Record financial transactions in the accounting software (Microsoft Dynamics / Navision and SEI).
• Maintain accurate and detailed records of all transactions.
• Financial Review :
• Review third-party financial information for accuracy and completeness.
• Identify and resolve discrepancies in financial data.
• Financial Statements :
• Prepare accurate and timely financial statements for assigned clients on a quarterly and annual basis.
• Ensure compliance with relevant accounting standards and regulations.
• Board Meeting Materials :
• Prepare comprehensive board meeting materials.
• Ensure all materials are accurate, complete, and submitted in a timely manner.
• Financial and Investments Reporting :
• Strong understanding of financial and investments reporting, including cash basis and accrual accounting.

Real Estate Accountant Qualifications :

• Bachelor's degree in Accounting, Finance, or a related field.
• Minimum of 3-5 years of experience in accounting, preferably in real estate or a related industry.
• Proficiency in Microsoft Dynamics / Navision and SEI accounting software.
• Strong analytical skills and attention to detail.

Real Estate Accountant Preferred Qualifications :

• CPA or equivalent certification.
• Experience in real estate accounting.
• Familiarity with financial statement preparation and board reporting.
