Job Description and Duties

Positions at the Water Boards may be eligible for telework with in-person attendance based on the operational needs of the position.

The Los Angeles Regional Water Quality Control Board has an opening for a Water Resource Control Engineer in the Municipal Permitting Unit.

The position is located at 320 W 4th Street, Los Angeles, CA 90013 in the heart of downtown Los Angeles, next to the Pershing Square metro station and convenient to multiple modes of public transportation.

Under the close supervision of a Senior Water Resource Control Engineer, the successful candidate will be responsible for managing National Pollutant Discharge Elimination System (NPDES) permits, Waste Discharge Requirements (WDRs), and Water Reclamation Requirements (WRRs) for Publicly Owned Treatment Works (POTWs).

The incumbent will be expected to work independently, communicate effectively, manage multiple projects, respond timely to questions / requests, and become proficient in the required duties.

Salary information CalHR salary rules allow appointment at the entrance rate (Cal. Code Regs., tit. 2, 599.673) of a classification.

Must have Water Resource Control Engineer list, transfer, or reinstatement eligibility and be reachable on the certification list.
