Your Role With Us :
At Salem Health, Desktop Analysts act as the technical escalation point for Tier I and II Desktop Technicians, by providing guidance, instruction, and input concerning potential technical issues.
This role manages escalation queues using department protocols to ensure a timely and efficient resolution and p
roactively works to correct root causes of incidents to keep them from happening in the future.
Core Functions :
- Manages escalation queues using department protocols to ensure a timely and efficient resolution. Proactively works to correct root causes of incidents to keep them from happening in the future.
- Develops and maintains documentation around Desktop supported hardware, software, services, and procedures according to vendor and industry recommendations.
- Aids in project work as assigned including but not limited to providing hardware, software, and configuration suggestions and deploying hardware and software.
- Participates in Lean activities to reduce waste in work processes and independently checks own work for removal of waste.
- Manages Business Continuity Access (BCA) workstations in the environment, including community connect deployments.
- Develops and maintains a support structure for applications not currently owned by another team within Information Services.
Works collaboratively across teams to expand and solidify an escalation path for all applications.
- Provides scheduled on-call support for troubleshooting and resolution of any escalated Desktop work, this may include remote or onsite support as needed.
- Test newly on-boarded hardware and software for compatibility, maintainability, and reliability. Consult with non-IS groups about new technologies.

Background / Expertise :
Bachelor's Degree in Information Technology, Computer Science, Business Administration, or Healthcare OR eight (8) years related work experience;
OR equivalent combination of education and experience where each year of education equates to two (2) years of experience.
- Four (4) years of experience will be substituted for an Associate's Degree and eight (8) years of experience will be substituted for a bachelor's degree.
- Minimum of three (3) years of IT, Healthcare, or related experience required.
- Dell Certified within six (6) months of hire date or moving into this position required.
- Ability to work in department and interdepartmentally to articulate ideas, negotiate resolution of issues, and achieve objectives;
strong verbal and written communication skills to provide instruction to staff and technical assistance to users.
Strong and proven history of customer service skills in dealing with difficult and escalated issues; able to create and track project plans.
Strong organizational and time management skills; ability to adapt quickly to changing priorities; experience with IT Service Management tools preferred.
