The Special Projects Department designs and fabricates custom art installations, hanging systems, support structures, frames, and similar;

often at production level quantities and sizes. Frequently used skills include, but are not limited to : Painting in a Spray Booth, Edge Banding, Woodworking, Assembly, Power Tools, Table Saw, Finishing, and Mounting.

The Woodworking and Fabrication Technician will possess general technical proficiency and ability to paint, finish, mount, frame, trim, and package custom prints or fabricated pieces.

Previous experience in the industry is preferred. Experience and / or knowledge of cabinet making and commercial woodworking / assembling is required.

Primary duties / responsibilities :

• Assist with the production of all projects in the department as assigned by supervisor and Production Manager.
• Ensure deadlines are being met per work order instructions and client needs.
• Ensure product quality meets or exceeds Colorchrome’s established standards.
• Efficiently utilize materials and tools to maximize productivity and minimize waste.
• Assist Operators with material handling, finished good packaging, and component transfer between departments.
• Label, organize, and document goods during packaging or inter-department transfer.
• Review work order to ensure the correctness of each job or component part.
• Perform quality check prior to packaging or transfer of materials.
• As needed, assist with proper packaging of all finished goods for shipment and / or pick-up.
• Assist Production staff with maintaining a clean, organized, and efficient production space.
• Accurately and consistently update entries in job and production tracking software when appropriate.
• Employ good listening skills and demonstrate good communication skills.
• Work closely with Colorchrome’s Production Team in order to deliver consistently high quality products and services to Colorchrome’s clients.
• Demonstrate the daily discipline and desire to achieve goals with limited guidance, taking responsibility for all results.
• Seek opportunities to contribute in cross-departmental efforts.
• Perform other duties as assigned.
• Work according to Colorchrome’s values.

Desired Skills & Background :

• Ideal candidate will have previous experience handling and packaging art.
• Prior knowledge of procedures and materials used for art packing, wrapping, and transport preferred.
• Knowledge of Smartsheet and Microsoft Office preferred.
• Ability to lift up to 75 pounds.
• Knowledge of framing, carpentry & crate construction a plus.
• Basic carpentry skills and knowledge of power tools.
• Trustworthy, reliable, hardworking, highly organized, detail-oriented.
• Must be a self-starter, able to anticipate and solve problems.
• Able to perform in a high-volume environment with firm deadlines.
• Excellent work ethic a must.

This is a full-time position based in Norcross, GA Monday through Friday.
