The Training Department Manager will oversee the development and implementation of internal and customer training programs across three key areas : Inside Training, Outside Training, and Online Training.
This role is responsible for leading a team of internal and field-based trainers, developing strategic direction for the department, and ensuring effective knowledge transfer with our headquarter office located in Mestrino, Italy.
The incumbent will also own our local Source of Truth documentation.
Main Responsibilities :
Leadership and Strategy :
- Develop and implement the overall training strategy for the United States market.
- Hire, lead, upskill, and mentor a team of inside and field-based trainers - Train the Trainers .
- Set productivity goals and conduct regular evaluations for the training team.
- Lead Inside Training with Stakeholders including Employee, Customer, and Manufacturer Rep Agencies.
Training Program Development :
- Design and oversee comprehensive training programs for inside, outside, and online training across employee and customer audiences.
- Ensure onsite and online training programs are aligned with organizational goals and brand standards.
- Continuously assess and improve training materials and methods with the support of Product Managers, International Training colleagues, and Customer Service.
Communication and Collaboration :
- Manage communication and collaboration with international colleagues to ensure consistency in training programs.
- Coordinate with other departments to identify training needs and develop appropriate solutions.
- Represent the training department in cross-functional meetings and projects.
Operational Management :
- Oversee the scheduling and delivery of customer training sessions in coordination with local sales representatives.
- Develop and oversee the execution of internal training programs including onboarding and continuing education materials.
- Ensure compliance with all relevant regulations and standards.
- Conduct internal training sessions for customers and employees.
Competencies & Skills
- Ability to give training presentations across various audience sizes and delivery methods including online, and field-based.
- Excellent leadership, communication, presentation, and interpersonal skills.
- Ability to work effectively with international teams and manage cross-cultural communication.
- Strong organizational and project management skills.
Education & Experience :
- 5+ years of experience in training and development, with at least 3 years in a managerial role.
- Experience with pumps, ground water drilling, water treatment, plumbing, mechanical, HVAC, electrical, irrigation, rainwater, or construction trades.
- Proven experience in developing, implementing, and conducting training programs in a professional environment.
Preferred Qualifications :
- Experience with e-learning platforms and online training tools.
- Certification in training and development (e.g., CPTD, ATD).
- Bachelor’s degree in Education, Human Resources, Business Administration, or a related field.
Working Conditions :
- This position may require occasional travel to various training locations
- Ability to work flexible hours to accommodate different time zones.
