Position Description :
We are seeking a skilled, Systems Engineer, Data Modeler to join our rapidly expanding engineering team. In this role, the Systems Engineer, Data Modeler will employ a broad spectrum of multi-domain knowledge to develop data models and ontologies that support the conditioning, securing, storage, and dissemination of data across various data store technologies.
The ideal Systems Engineer is a motivated, professional who understands the critical role of data in achieving business outcomes and is adept at critiquing and creating new schemas in response to customer data requirements.
This position requires close collaboration with key stakeholders and system users to understand and address challenges to enhance system performance and organizational effectiveness.
Key Responsibilities :
- Research and design agnostic data models that support multi-domain users.
- Create, update, and integrate new data models into the Unified Data Library.
- Analyze the existing UDL data model to develop concepts for leveraging existing solutions to meet future requirements.
- Communicate the scope and state of work, identify issues, and anticipate potential roadblocks.
- Translate customer requirements into detailed, actionable items.
- Define iterations and user stories for development efforts.
- Provide technical support to customer and company planning efforts.
- Contribute to the technical roadmap of programs.
- Support the design and architecture studies for customers.
- Stay abreast of cutting-edge technologies to enhance software product features, reliability, and performance.
- Support architecture trade studies and technology evaluations.
- Document work products in briefings and / or technical reports for customers and teammates.
- Collaborate with cross-domain teams in research and development activities.
Required Qualifications :
- Minimum of 4 years of systems engineering and data modeling.
- Broad operational work history in Joint / Combined domains with specific knowledge or training in one or more of the following : Space Domain Awareness, Space Defense, Air, Land, Maritime.
- Strong stakeholder management, engagement, and collaboration skills, paired with a growth mindset
- Platform instruction, delivering briefings, or training (formal, instructional, or on the job).
- Proficiency in the Atlassian Tool Suite, including Confluence and Jira.
- Familiarity with Scrum / Agile development frameworks and methodologies.
- Detail-oriented with the ability to multi-task and manage competing priorities effectively.
- Excellent communication skills, capable of articulating complex concepts clearly and tailoring messages based on the audience.
- Ability to see underlying and relevant concepts and patterns in complex situations.
- Ability to independently prioritize tasks and escalate issues as necessary.
- Personal and professional resilience, with a strong ability to tolerate ambiguity and adapt in a dynamic work environment.
- Demonstrated sense of ownership for projects.
Systems Engineer
Salary Range : In compliance with Colorado's Equal Pay for Equal Work Act, the salary range for this role is $110,000 - $145,000.
Final compensation for this role will be determined by various factors such as a candidate's relevant work, skills, certifications, and geographic location.
Required Education : 1+ years of software development with a Bachelor of Science degree OR Associate degree with 2 additional years beyond the minimum required may be substituted in lieu of a degree OR a High School Diploma with 4 additional years beyond the minimum required may be substituted in lieu of a degree.
Staff Systems Engineer
Salary Range : In compliance with Colorado's Equal Pay for Equal Work Act, the salary range for this role is $146,000 - $175,000.
Final compensation for this role will be determined by various factors such as a candidate's relevant work, skills, certifications, and geographic location.
Required Education : 8+ years of software development with a Bachelor of Science degree OR Associate degree with 2 additional years beyond the minimum required may be substituted in lieu of a degree OR a High School Diploma with 4 additional years beyond the minimum required may be substituted in lieu of a degree.
Principal Systems Engineer
Salary Range : In compliance with Colorado's Equal Pay for Equal Work Act, the salary range for this role is $170,000 - $224,000.
Final compensation for this role will be determined by various factors such as a candidate's relevant work, skills, certifications, and geographic location.
Required Education : 12+ years of software development with a Bachelor of Science degree OR Associate degree with 2 additional years beyond the minimum required may be substituted in lieu of a degree OR a High School Diploma with 4 additional years beyond the minimum required may be substituted in lieu of a degree.
Clearance Requirement : This position requires the ability to obtain a TS / SCI Clearance. To be eligible for a security clearance, US Citizenship is required, and an employee must agree to participate in a background screen and credit check.
Relocation : This position does not offer relocation. Candidates must live in the immediate area or relocate at their own expense.
