The Senior Controls Engineer within our eMobility group will be responsible for the design, development, and system architecture of eMobility solutions utilizing the ConMet PreSet Plus® Electric Hub (e-Hub).
This position is responsible for the strategy and implementation of software specific to high voltage traction motor optimization, auxiliary power distribution, HV safety system, user interface, and overall development of the vehicle supervisory control system.
Post-Implementation, this role will be accountable to develop the roadmaps and plans for the e-Hub controls architecture to minimize infrastructure and development costs while maximizing security, availability, scalability, quality and feature richness.
Key Responsibilities Include :
- Vehicle level supervisory controls and management.
- Define and implement modular and scalable control architecture to facility function integration and
- Define a calibratable SW strategy to allow performance optimization for diverse customer base without core SW changes.
- Integrating subsystem components such as : DC DC converters, AC-DC bi-directional power inverter, onboard chargers, thermal management, battery management, and HV safety mechanism.
- Deliver integrated system function and performance using HIL, Dyno and vehicle.
- Developing / optimizing regenerative braking control, power management mode and transition
- Controlling and optimization auxiliary power electronics and HV distribution.
- Continue improvement of existing control strategy to meet customer needs and address field application feedback.
This role requires working in an office environment (not hybrid or remote) at ConMet's corporate headquarters in Vancouver, Washington.

Required Qualifications :
- BS or MS in Engineering
- Control function architecture and advanced control algorithm development
- Minimum 5+ years of applicable Controls Engineering work experience
- Electric Vehicle (EV) experience, especially in propulsion and regenerative brake controls
- Model based design tool, e.g., Matlab / Simulink / StateFlow
- System level controls integration
- Experience with high voltage battery management systems, traction motor, and power electronics, and high voltage systems
- CAN bus messaging protocols, J1939
Preferred Qualifications :
- Embedded controller and Autosar SW architecture
- EV or hybrid powertrain calibration
- Knowledge of emission regulation
- Vehicle dynamics
- Experience with ASPICE SW development process
- Simulation and modeling
- Experience overseeing customized development of processes for multiple projects simultaneously.
- Testing and validation experience

Compensation & Benefits
The full salary range for the position, across all geographies is, $89,211 - $152,933 per year. The upper portion of the salary range is typically reserved for existing employees who demonstrate strong performance over time.
Starting salary will vary by location, qualifications, and prior experience.
- Targeted annual bonus is based on company performance to objectives during the fiscal plan year which runs from October 1 September 30.
