Minimum Qualification Requirements :
To qualify for this position you must meet the (1) Basic Requirements AND (2) Specialized Experience for the series / grade to which you are applying.
1) Basic Requirements :
- A. Degree : Biological sciences, agriculture, natural resource management, chemistry, or related disciplines appropriate to the position.
- B. Combination of education and experience : Courses equivalent to a major, or at least 30 semester hours in courses, as shown in A above, plus appropriate experience or additional education.
- C. Experience : Four years of experience that demonstrated that the applicant acquired knowledge and understanding of one or more of the biological sciences, agriculture, natural resource management, or related disciplines equivalent to that which would have been acquired through completion of a 4-year course of study as described in A above.
IMPORTANT NOTE : You must submit your transcripts if you meet the Basic Requirements based on education.
2) Specialized Experience
To qualify for the GS-15 , you must possess at least one full year of specialized experience equivalent to at least the GS-14 grade level in the Federal service, or comparable experience not gained through Federal service.
Specialized experience is experience that equipped the applicant with the particular knowledge, skills, and abilities to perform successfully the duties of the position, and that is typically in or related to the work of the position to be filled.
Specialized experience is defined as demonstrated experience :
- Consulting and collaborating with key officials to develop and implement immediate and long-range organizational plans, processes, goals, and programs;
- Analyzing the efficiency and effectiveness of programs, practices, policies, or regulations, and identifying matters requiring corrective action;
- Exercising managerial duties and functions such as assigning and reviewing work, writing and implementing performance standards, managing employee issues and ensuring a diverse workforce; AND
- Coordinating and implementing an interagency program.
