Job Summary

We are seeking an experienced Piping Superintendent to join our San Diego, CA team. As a key leader within our commercial mechanical construction projects, you will oversee the planning, coordination, and execution of piping installations.

This role demands a seasoned professional with in-depth knowledge of HVAC, plumbing, and industrial piping systems and a history of managing teams in the field.

Key Responsibilities

  • Lead and manage piping installation crews, ensuring projects are completed on time, within budget, and to the highest quality standards.
  • Oversee the installation of various piping systems, including HVAC, plumbing, and industrial piping, ensuring adherence to project specifications.
  • Collaborate with project managers, foreman, and other trades to coordinate work schedules, material deliveries, and workforce allocation.
  • Review blueprints, schematics, and technical drawings to ensure accurate installations, proactively addressing any issues.
  • Ensure full compliance with safety protocols and building codes, conducting regular site assessments to mitigate risks.
  • Manage material usage and labor productivity to optimize efficiency while maintaining a clean and organized job site.
  • Act as the primary point of contact for subcontractors and vendors, fostering positive relationships to ensure smooth project execution.

Qualifications

  • 5+ years of experience in piping systems installation and supervision, focusing on commercial HVAC, plumbing, or industrial piping.
  • Proven ability to manage and lead field teams on large-scale projects.
  • Extensive knowledge of local and national building codes, safety regulations, and piping standards.
  • Proficiency in reading and interpreting blueprints, schematics, and detailed technical drawings.
  • Strong problem-solving skills, with the ability to troubleshoot and resolve issues in real time.
  • Excellent communication and leadership abilities, effectively managing internal teams and external stakeholders.
  • Local candidate with a stable and consistent work history, demonstrating reliability and dedication.
  • Proficiency in project management tools such as Bluebeam, MS Project, and AutoCAD is a plus.
