DESCRIPTION
Under general supervision, the incumbent will play a crucial role in processing transactions and providing operational support for various financial services to support the CPEO Events Unit, the Stuart Collection, Basic Needs, and The Guardian in Student Life.
Process monthly and annual financial reports, office procedures and policies. Responsible for providing detailed transactions on the general ledgers and support in Concur.
Maintains exceptional customer service standards and communications with campus departments. Reviews and prepares month end and year-end transactions.
Uses professional financial services concepts. Applies organization policies and procedures to resolve a variety of moderately complicated issues.
Works on financial services problems of moderate scope where analysis of situations or data requires a review of a variety of factors.
QUALIFICATIONS
Bachelor's degree in related area and / or equivalent experience / training.
Working knowledge of financial processes, policies and procedures. Demonstrated success in creating and enforcing accounting and cashiering systems and policies in a customer-service, revenue-generating environment;
strong working knowledge of internal controls, auditable procedures, and transactions (i.e., fiscal controls, cash controls, high-risk transactions), etc.
Strong knowledge of financial data management and reporting systems.
Proficiency in the use of spreadsheet and database software. Ability to review financial models and budgets and make sound recommendations for adjustments.
Demonstrated experience in the principles and practices of fiscal planning analysis and financial operating data to determine revenue & costs to ensure cost effectiveness.
Proven ability to develop, implement, and evaluate procedures.
Strong interpersonal skills, analytical skills, service orientation, active listening, critical thinking, attention to detail, ability to multi-task in a high-volume environment, organizational skills, effective verbal and written communication skills, sound judgment and decision making.
Ability to function effectively as a member of a team.
Ability to adapt to changing priorities.
Intermediate knowledge and understanding of internal control practices and their impact on protecting University resources.
Skills to provide coaching and mentoring to support staff.
Must provide strict attention to detail and be able to independently and accurately complete documents and computer transactions error free and in a timely manner.
SPECIAL CONDITIONS
Must pass a background check.
Mandated Reporter : This position has been identified as a Mandated Reporter pursuant to the California Child Abuse and Neglect Reporting Act and requires immediate reporting of physical abuse, sexual abuse, emotional abuse, or neglect of anyone under the age of 18.
It is the responsibility of the Mandated Reporter to ensure that they obtain proper training in order to fulfill their reporting responsibilities as required by the California Child Abuse and Neglect Reporting Act and University policy, and to complete and submit the required reports to the UC San Diego Police Department without delay.

Pay Transparency Act
Annual Full Pay Range : $58,600 - $100,800 (will be prorated if the appointment percentage is less than 100%)
Hourly Equivalent : $28.07 - $48.28
Factors in determining the appropriate compensation for a role include experience, skills, knowledge, abilities, education, licensure and certifications, and other business and organizational needs.
The Hiring Pay Scale referenced in the job posting is the budgeted salary or hourly range that the University reasonably expects to pay for this position.
