S. Patent Agent to join our global intellectual property team. You will perform a variety of patent-related activities working closely with the US-based and global R&D and business teams within allnex.

Responsibilities

• Drafting and filing of patent applications.
• Preparing responses to patent office actions from the USPTO and other worldwide patent offices.
• Performing landscape analysis.
• Providing support for freedom-to-operate analysis, validity assessments, and IP agreements.
• Supporting and promoting IP awareness within allnex’s US-based and global R&D community and business teams.

Required skills and experience

• At least 5 years of experience in conducting patentability studies, preparing and drafting patent applications suitable for international filings, and US and international patent prosecution.
• Solid technical background and either a master’s degree or PhD in chemistry, chemical engineering or equivalent, ideally in polymer or organic chemistry disciplines, with experience in industrial R&D or Technical Services.
• Experience in patent landscaping.
• Previous in-house patent experience is a plus.
• Excellent analytical and communication skills (fluent in both verbal and written English).
• Ability to manage multiple projects simultaneously and work in a collaborative and efficient manner as part of a global team.
• Highly motivated, with the ability to proactively organize the workload and meet deadlines.
• Well organized, with a strong sense of responsibility.

Qualifications

• Master’s degree or PhD in chemistry, chemical engineering or equivalent, ideally with specific experience in polymer or organic chemistry disciplines.
• Registered to practice before the United States Patent and Trademark Office (USPTO).
