Job Overview :

The Sr Business Development Consultant plays a key role in LPLIA’s growth and success by developing an engagement strategy to implement both sales / marketing campaigns and events to drive sales through LPLIA to achieve strategic goals.

The role will focus on partnering with our institutional partnerships and sales teams to understand our top relationships so that we can provide targeted messaging, product positioning, and education tailored to the independent advisors and institutional relationships.

The role will execute sales plays / cadence for internal teams, report outcomes from campaigns and events, and continually refine sales plays / cadence to achieve desired outcomes.

As needed, may require periodic travel to support in-person events.

Responsibilities :

In every interaction Provide Quality Customer Service

Anticipate institutional and advisor needs and proactively provide solutions to enhance the experience.

Problem-solve myriad issues relating to compliance, operations, and technology concerns; Strive for one call resolution.

Work collaboratively across business units to provide service and to facilitate cross referrals.

Sales / Marketing Campaigns and Events

Coordinate with Leadership and execute events that promote engagement with targeted advisors and drive new opportunity growth.

Report, Review, and propose refinement of sales plays / cadence of activities for sales team to achieve target outcomes.

Using Salesforce, build and propose refinements of sales plays / cadence of activities for sales team to execute and record outcomes.

Prepare Sales team when introducing a new event and sales play / activity cadence that outlines advisor or institution target, key message / benefit, key activity outcomes, and measures of success.

Opportunity Pipeline Reporting for LPLIA

Regularly review outcome reporting of events and assist in preparing report outs to share with LPLIA sales leadership and carriers.

Evaluate and summarize key findings from the reporting results and propose adjustment to achieve targeted outcomes.

Provide inputs into Sales Desk training to standardize Salesforce usage.

Carrier Marketing and Product within LPLIA

Support agency leadership in working with Key Account Management within LPLIA and Carriers, maintain carrier reference materials on products, concepts, and software.

Maintain the sales team’s carrier / product reference tool.

Sales and Marketing Knowledge Base

Create and maintain sales / marketing knowledge base to assist sales team with product, concept, and positioning materials.

Maintain both advisor and client-facing carrier reference materials.

Personal Development

Participate in appropriate professional development activities to best provide support to advisors and their clients, which may include pursuit of certain professional designations and continuing education.

Requirements :

Experience with cross-platform marketing solutions and sales methodologies.

Knowledge of CRM platforms and sales management software, Salesforce preferred.

High-level proficiency with MS Office applications.

Experience planning, coordinating, and measuring marketing events that are delivered, both in person and virtual.

Preferences :

Ability to adapt quickly in an unpredictable and rapidly changing environment.

Excellent communication, presentation, problem-solving, critical thinking, and time management / prioritization skills.

Pay Range :

$89,200.00 - $148,600.00. Actual base salary varies based on factors, including but not limited to, relevant skill, prior experience, education, base salary of internal peers, demonstrated performance, and geographic location.
