Title : Local Supply Planning Specialist

Location : Dallas, TX (3 days a week in Office)

The Local Supply Planning Specialist is responsible for coordinating U.S. all promotional and rework product requirements throughout the business.

This position will ensure adequate supply by planning and executing timely and accurate inventory sourcing and management strategies.

Key Responsibilities :

  • Coordinate all activities required to support rework, including MRP set up, establishing an accurate BOM, developing packaging specs, issuing and closing out WIP jobs
  • Collaborate with identified vendors on soliciting quotes and terms, addressing quality issues, and finding alternate suppliers when needed
  • Purchase materials and / or services from suppliers in accordance with purchasing guidelines and grant of authority; ensure appropriate inventory levels for all rework products
  • Review and oversee production schedules and forecast requirements with third party packagers, suppliers, and internal customers to support on-time customer shipments and minimize risk of out-of-stock situations .

Provide tracking of all projects and present statuses to cross functional teams in monthly meetings

  • Review forecast and sales variances with demand planning to understand risks to inventory and confirm rework quantities prior to build
  • Partner with Trade Marketing / Brand, Sales, Quality, Operations etc. to ensure to ensure project timelines and expectations for product launches / modifications are in alignment
  • Document processes; develop and maintain SOPs and work instructions to ensure back-up support can effectively perform job functions in absence
  • May perform other duties as required

Skills and Qualifications :

  • Bachelor’s Degree from a four year college / university, required or equivalent work experience
  • Minimum 3 5 years of work experience in the fields of Supply Chain, Purchasing, Operations, Logistics, Production Control, Inventory Management and / or Master Planning / Scheduling required
  • Experience in a pharmaceutical and / or consumer packaged goods environment strongly preferred with knowledge of industry standards for packaging
  • Familiarity with manufacturing and production in a pharmaceutical environment dealing with lot codes and controls, FDA regulations, expiration dates, primary and secondary packaging
  • Must be proficient with MS office software (e.g. Excel, Word) and have experience with reporting tools
  • Project management skills preferred
  • Experience in MRP systems; Oracle experience preferred
  • Excellent communication skills (verbal and written) with the ability to work effectively with all levels of staff and Management
