ORGANIZATION BACKGROUND

Pacific Asian Consortium in Employment (PACE) is a community development organization founded in 1976 that creates economic solutions to meet the employment, education, housing, environmental, and business development challenges of low-income residents in the diverse communities of Los Angeles.

PACE serves more than 40,000 people each year with our wide scope of services with approximately 350+ staff.

I. PROGRAM SUMMARY :

PACE is seeking an experienced and enthusiastic Full-time Crew Leader to join the Energy Environmental Services Department and team! This is a wonderful opportunity for an individual looking to advance their career in a well-established organization while also making an impact in the community.

PACE Energy and Environmental Services provides Department provides Energy Assistance, Weatherization and other services to low-income residents of the greater Los Angeles area.

II. ESSENTIAL FUNCTIONS OF THE JOB :

Under the guidance of the Field Supervisor, the person hired shall :

  • Comply with and practice safety procedures and guidelines in accordance with PACE and Cal OSHA (Occupational Safety and Health Administration) safety standards and guidelines;
  • Oversee / supervise / assign work to crew members;
  • Perform pre-and post-Combustion Appliance Safety (CAS) Tests on all gas appliances;
  • Prepare and submit appropriate reports after each test to the Field Operation Supervisor;
  • Perform required blower door / duct blaster tests;
  • Read, understand, interpret and fill out all required CSD forms;
  • Ensure HVAC / Electrical contractors’ work is in compliance with CSD standards;
  • Install all feasible mandatory and optional measures as necessary;
  • Respond to daily issues and concerns of the crew;
  • Complete, review and approve daily work activity reports;
  • Track all pending measures to ensure completion;
  • Effectively supervise and manage work of assigned installers;
  • Enforce compliance of all program guidelines among crew members;
  • Manage all field materials released for the day;
  • Inspect measures installed by crew members for quality and compliance;
  • Ensure that all work is performed in a Lead-Safe manner;
  • Educate clients on the benefits received from weatherization services;
  • Ensure field staff perform efficiently with a well-planned schedule;
  • Communicate effectively with supervisors and co-workers;
  • Perform installation of HVAC measures;
  • Assume tasks of an installer, as needed;
  • Work after hours and / or weekend assignments, as needed.
  • Execute other related duties that may be assigned.

III. QUALIFICATIONS, EXPERIENCES AND SKILLS :

  • Minimum High School Diploma or GED equivalent, AA degree desirable;
  • Proficiency in computer skills;
  • At least 2 years’ experience in construction / weatherization field;
  • Must be able to perform Basic Weatherization, Combustion Appliance Safety, Blower Door and Duct Blaster Testing;
  • Possess relevant California certificates, a plus;
  • Must pass all required online training;
  • Must be able to analyze and collect data;
  • Must be physically fit to wear safety gear;
  • Experience in installing solar systems a plus;
  • Bilingual in Spanish or Asian languages a plus.

IV. PHYSICAL DEMANDS :

The physical demands described here are representative of those that must be met by an employee to successfully perform the essential functions of this job.

While performing the duties of this job, the employee is required to sit, use hands, and talk or hear. The employee is frequently required to reach with hands and arms and stoop, kneel, crouch, climb, push, pull, stand on uneven surfaces, bend, twist or crawl.

The employee must be able to lift and / or move up to 50 pounds.

V. SPECIAL REQUIREMENTS :

  • Must pass employment background verification and a pre-employment physical examination;
  • Must have a current and valid California Driver’s License;
  • COVID vaccination required.
