Patrol Deputy

The Cumbe r land County Sheriff’s Office is looking for Patrol Deputies to join our ranks! We are a very progressive law enforcement agency that promotes a Community Policing philosophy.

This position is 40 hours per week with a full benefits package. Pay is commensurate with experience and starts at $29.50 / hr.

Stipends and shift differentials are available, and for blue pins / academy certified officers we provide up to 15 YEARS in lateral credit for pay and time off as well as a $6,000 sign on bonus ! Please note, applicants must be authorized to work for ANY employer in the U.

• S. We are unable to sponsor or take over sponsorship of an employment Visa at this time. Our dedicated and elite Patrol Deputies : Prevent crime by explaining and enforcing applicable federal, state, county, and local laws and ordinances;
• teaching preventative, protective, and defensive tactic s ; m e diating disputes; patrolling assigned area; responding to n o tice s of disturbances;
• conducting searches; observing suspicious activities; d etaining sus p ects. Apprehend suspects by responding to complaints and calls for help;

observing violations; making arrests. Conduct criminal investigations by gathering e v idence; interviewing victims, witnesses and sus p ects.

Hold a HS Diploma or equivalent; Hold a valid Maine Driver’s Licen s e; Reside in the State of Maine and not more than 15 miles outside the Cumberland County border.
