Department / Unit :
Regenerative & Cancer Cell Biology
Work Shift :
Day (United States of America)A postdoctoral fellow position funded by a NIH grant is immediately available to study the function and regulation of Aqp2+ progenitor cells in kidney fibrosis and renal cell carcinoma.
Aqp2+ progenitor cells are considered as the first potential candidate that meets a strict definition of an adult renal progenitor cell requiring in vivo demonstration of 1) self-renewal, 2) clonogenicity, 3) multipotency, and participation in 4) tissue maintenance and in 5) injury repair (J Am Soc Nephrol.

Salary range : $61,008
We will primarily be utilizing kidney samples from patients with various kidney diseases and a set of genetically engineered mouse modes to identify the unique molecular signature of Aqp2+ progenitor cells and their key regulators under both normal and pathological conditions in both human and mouse kidneys.
The Postdoctoral Fellow will learn and perform various experiments using a variety of techniques such as in vivo lineage tracing, immunofluorescence staining, confocal microscopy, cell sorting, single cell RNA-Seq and bioinformatics approaches.
The Postdoctoral Fellow will also learn how to write competitive grants and manuscripts. Individuals with a background in biomedical science or a related field are encouraged to apply.
Experience working with mice is preferred. Interested applicants should e-mail a cover letter together with a comprehensive curriculum vitae and contact information of three references to Prof.
