WHAT YOU’LL DO :

The Compliance Specialist is responsible for assisting the Compliance Department with the credit union’s overall compliance with applicable laws, rules, regulations and statutory requirements.

This is accomplished through support of the implementation of the Compliance Program and performance of the key accountabilities listed below.

The Compliance Specialist will work with the Compliance Officer or designee as necessary to accomplish the overall compliance function.

WHAT YOU’LL BRING :

Availability to work 40 hours per week Monday through Friday between the hours of 8 : 00am 5 : 00pm at our Plymouth Corporate office; exempt.

In addition :

  • Bachelor’s degree, preferably in business or related field, or equivalent work experience.
  • 3+ years of experience in credit union / banking operations. Experience in lending operations, auditing, compliance or a related function, preferred.

NCCO) NAFCU Certified Compliance Officer certification, (CUCE) Credit Union Compliance Expert certification, other applicable compliance certification preferred, or ability to obtain within 6 months.

  • Working knowledge of deposit and loan products, including documentation requirements, and general knowledge of financial institution operations preferred.
  • Working knowledge of laws, rules and regulations pertaining to the credit union and financial services industry preferred.
  • Excellent analytical ability, and ability to conduct thorough research, interpret and understand laws and regulations, and provide workable recommendations and solutions to problems.
  • Ability to be well organized, efficient, and detail-oriented self-starter, able to work independently and as a member of a team.
  • Ability to handle simultaneously, multiple tasks and changing priorities in an efficient and effective manner.
  • Ability to identify and facilitate change in a deadline-driven, highly regulated environment.
  • Ability to work in a complex, competitive, and rapidly changing environment.
  • Proficiency in Windows based word processing and spreadsheets.
  • Excellent written and verbal communication skills.
  • Compliance with the Bank Secrecy Act and all its provisions.
  • Ability to pass a pre-employment drug test and various background checks.
  • Regular and reliable attendance at the workplace.
