Position Summary

Seattle Colleges is looking for innovative and dedicated faculty members, who have a demonstrated commitment to working within a college community that is diverse and serves students from a broad spectrum of socioeconomic and academic backgrounds.

Faculty will teach part-time in a wide range of Dental Assisting courses. Successful applicants will have the ability to work effectively with students, colleagues, staff and others in a campus climate that promotes cultural diversity and multicultural understanding in an urban environment.

Specific teaching assignments will be dependent on the instructor's background and scheduling. Successful applicants may be invited to teach Seattle Central College.

Candidates should be willing to teach in a variety of formats such as in-class, hybrid, online and varied class times including days, evenings, and weekends according to program needs.

This position is governed by a collective bargaining agreement with representation by AFT-Seattle.

What you bring as a candidate :

Any Equivalent Combination of Knowledge, Skills, Abilities, Education and Experience)

  • An understanding of the goals and role of the community college.
  • Demonstrated ability and commitment to teach multiple levels of on the topic of study.
  • Master's Degree or PhD in the field or related field from an accredited institution. (Please read the position announcement carefully when applying for possible part-time teaching positions, to find those that best match your education and experience.)
  • A demonstrated commitment to working within a college community that is diverse and serves students from a broad spectrum of socioeconomic and academic backgrounds.
  • Innovative teaching methods including the use of technology and collaborative learning.
  • The ability to work collaboratively with others in a professional setting.

Physical Requirements :

The Position :

typically works in an office environment and uses a computer, telephone and other office equipment as needed to perform duties.

The noise level in the work environment is typical of that of an office.
