ESSENTIAL DUTIES AND RESPONSIBILITIES

Specific activities may change from time to time.
1. Lead internal and external partners in calculating Truist’s energy use and Scope 1 and Scope 2 (location- and market-based methods) greenhouse gas (GHG) emissions.
2. Monitor Truist’s real estate portfolio to understand and incorporate changes to Truist’s energy and GHG emissions calculations.
3. Monitor Truist’s utility records to ensure completeness and accuracy of energy related data and to incorporate this data into GHG emissions calculations.
4. Improve data collection and calculations of energy and GHG emissions from other sources that contribute to Scope 1 and 2 GHG emissions (e.
g., vehicles, generators, refrigerant).
5. Drive continuous improvement of data completeness, data quality, processes, and integration / automation across internal and external partners.
6. Prepare energy and Scope 1+2 GHG information for internal and external reporting needs
7. Manage internal risk, controls, and validation processes and 3rd party verification.
8. Prepare and maintain documentation of all Scope 1+2 GHG calculation processes for internal and external review
9. Lead internal and external partners in calculating water consumption for Truist facilities, and provide equivalent leadership for water as described in items 2 through 8 listed above.
10. In coordination with the Senior Director (Environmental Sustainability), support efforts to reduce Scope 1 and 2 GHG emissions through energy efficiency and renewable energy, including collecting needed information to accurately calculate Scope 1 and Scope 2 (location- and market-based methods) GHG emissions and fulfilling items 4-8 above.
QUALIFICATIONS
Required Qualifications :

1. Bachelor's degree or equivalent
2. 5+ years of related experience or an equivalent combination of education and experience.
3. In-depth and broad knowledge within own professional discipline.
4. Solid understanding of and experience with relevant energy and electric power concepts, greenhouse gas calculation methodologies, the Greenhouse Gas Protocol, and CDP.
5. Proven abilities in Excel
6. Strong written and verbal communication skills. Ability to interpret and explain complex information to a range of audiences.
Ability to influence others to adopt a new perspective and handle interpersonal issues with tact and diplomacy.
7. Ability to exercise judgment and sophisticated skills in solving complex technical, operational, and organizational challenges in the context of business objectives and priorities.
Preferred Qualifications :
1. Knowledge of landscape of voluntary GHG disclosure standards and the expectation of mandatory GHG disclosures in the future.
2. Previous experience in banking, with specific emphasis on reporting, systems, technology, data, risk, compliance or related areas
3. Relevant professional or technical certifications
4. Experience with integrating data into and leveraging enterprise data systems
5. Experience with other programming languages and tools (e.g., Python, SQL, SAS, Qlik, Tableau)
