Job Objective : This 40 hour per week temporary position supports the seasonal efforts of The Salvation Army of Greater Green Bay by scheduling bell ringers, answering phones, and performing data entry.
Christmas positions are temporary and are not entitled to benefits. The position will work during the months of October through January, however, hours of work may vary and are not guaranteed.
The Salvation Army, as a church, is exempt from participation in federal and state unemployment insurance programs. Upon termination, employees are not eligible for Unemployment Compensation.
Essential Functions :

- Answer calls from those seeking to bell ring and return messages in a timely manner.
- Respond to e-mail messages from ringers.
- Make calls to previous bell ringers.
- Utilize website / database to enter kettle data, schedule volunteer bell ringers, generate reminders, emails / US mail reminders to scheduled volunteers.
- Data entry for seasonal programs.
- Network within the community to engage prospective bell ringers or community partners, giving presentations as needed, under the direction of the Volunteer Specialist, and assist in other seasonal tasks.
- Bell ring on location, as requested by leader (indoor and outdoor locations)
Minimum Qualifications :

Education :
High School Diploma or Equivalent
Experience :
- One year experience in an office environment requiring attention to detail and organizational skills.
- OR -
Any equivalent combination of training and experience which provides the required knowledge, skills, and abilities.
Certifications :
A valid Wisconsin Driver's license with clearance to drive from The Salvation Army's insurance carrier is required.
Skills / Abilities :
- Excellent customer service skills and friendly demeanor.
- Strong proficiency in use of personal computer software including Microsoft Office, e-mail, and internet.
- Strong organizational skills and ability to multitask.
- Ability to speak, write and understand English in a manner sufficient for effective communication.

Travel :
Minimal local travel between Salvation Army sites in Greater Green Bay may be required.
Working Conditions :
The duties of this job will be primarily performed indoors under normal room temperatures. The noise level will generally be low.
While performing these duties, the employee may have occasional exposure to outdoor weather conditions prevalent at the time.
The position may require occasional evening, weekend, and holiday work. For other duties of this job, such as bellringing, the employee may be exposed to weather and facility conditions prevalent at the time.
