Davis Behavioral Health (DBH) is seeking a full-time Central Telephone Operator - Customer Service Specialist to join its Clinical Support team.
Davis Behavioral Health (DBH) is committed to providing exemplary customer services to its clients and employees. As a member of the Clinical Support team, the Central Telephone Operator - Customer Service Specialist performs essential tasks related to making clients and members of the community feel welcome and valued when they call DBH.
The Central Telephone Operator is the first point of contact for most of the individuals reaching out to DBH and creates the critical first impression.
Essential Job Functions
The Central Telephone Operator - Customer Service Specialist must be able to perform the following essential job functions :
- Answer all phones calls made to the main company line and address all calls in a warm, friendly, and prompt manner.
- Be engaging and personable to build and maintain a strong connection with all callers.
- Be informed of the daily operations and programs at DBH to route calls to the appropriate extension to meet the callers' needs.
- Assist the Scheduling Representatives by scheduling, rescheduling, and canceling appointments.
- Convey all necessary information related to the client's appointment.
- Update appointments cancelled through automated system.
- Work within DBH's electronic medical record system and have a working knowledge of HIPAA and other privacy laws.
- Answer telephones, screen calls, take messages, and provide information to the appropriate source, when necessary.
- All other duties as assigned related to the needs of the organization.
The clinical support staff at DBH provide the first impression for its clients and play an important role in helping clients who may be struggling with their mental health, which is why providing excellent customer service in a prompt manner is critical.
Schedule
Monday through Friday 7 : 30 am to 4 : 00 pm
Required Qualifications
- High school diploma, or equivalent.
- Must have reliable transportation and a valid driver's license.
- Must complete and maintain First Aid and CPR certification.
- All employees at DBH must successfully pass a pre-employment criminal background check as well as a pre-employment drug screening.
Since Davis Behavioral Health works with Federal grants the company and its employees must comply with the Federal drug laws, including no use of medical marijuana.

Compensation
Starting pay for this position is $15.75 per hour.

DBH Criminal Background Check & Drug Screening Disclaimer
Davis Behavioral Health is a drug-free workplace and requires all employees to successfully pass a pre-employment drug screening.
DBH will not hire individuals currently using illegal drugs or abusing alcohol; therefore, making employment at DBH conditional upon successfully passing pre-employment drug screening by providing a valid sample.
Candidates who are offered employment are required to report for a drug screen at an Intermountain WorkMed location within 24 hours of being requested to do so by the DBH Human Resources Department.
Davis Behavioral Health works with Federal grants and must comply with the Federal drug laws, including no use of medical marijuana.
Further, all employees at DBH must successfully pass a pre-employment criminal background check as part of DBH's licensing agreement with the State of Utah.
Failure to pass either screening will result in the termination of any job offer submitted and / or employment for any individual who has started employment while the criminal background screening is in process.
Pending and / or open charges will likely impact a candidate's ability to pass the pre-employment criminal background screening.
