Senior Manufacturing Engineer

POSITION SUMMARY :

The Senior Manufacturing Engineer is responsible for developing and enhancing manufacturing equipment and processes for both new and existing heat transfer products.

This role involves a variety of process improvement projects, including general production, aluminum welding processes, and quality enhancement initiatives.

ESSENTIAL DUTIES AND RESPONSIBILITIES :

• Design and develop mechanical specifications for new and existing equipment and processes involved in manufacturing heat transfer products.
• Identify and qualify suppliers to meet project and equipment specifications.
• Collaborate with Management, Design Engineering, and Production departments to determine project specifications and procedures, such as welding manufacturing equipment and processes.
• Prepare cost estimates and project plans for new equipment and processes.
• Work with Design Engineering to develop routings for heat exchanger components and assemblies.
• Perform calculations to verify equipment and process capabilities to support production volumes.
• Manage manufacturing projects from initial development through to final manufacturing qualification.
• Oversee internal and supplier equipment qualification plans and supervise the testing / validation of new equipment.
• Create manufacturing instructions for new products.
• Investigate and resolve issues that arise during the manufacturing of new and existing products using tools like RCCA, Fishbone Diagrams, 5-Why’s, etc , and implement effective solutions.
• Ensure compliance with all applicable Federal, State, and Local laws and regulations related to job duties.
• Adhere to and enforce Customer and Company standards, policies, and procedures.
• Recommend and implement process improvements.
• Provide feedback to management regarding potential problems or areas for improvement.
• Perform all other duties as assigned.

QUALIFICATIONS :

• Bachelor’s degree in Industrial or Mechanical Engineering.
• A minimum of 5 years of engineering experience is preferred.
• Experience with Lean, Six Sigma, Kaizen, Kanban, and 5S methodologies.
• Knowledge of vacuum brazing, CNC operations, and / or welding is preferred.
