We are seeking an experienced Usability Engineer that will be part of a dynamic cross-functional team to support the design and development of various Department of Defense (DoD) programs and ensure human factors engineering (HFE) and human systems integration (HSI) requirements are met.

The candidate for this position should possess a clear understanding of the goals and objectives for creating and conducting usability research projects by preparing tasking and scenarios, interactive user interface (UI) prototypes, project plans, study plans, moderator guides, and other artifacts related to designing and structuring user studies.

In addition to creating and facilitating user studies, the candidate will moderate user interviews, create personas and journey maps, conduct heuristic evaluations and cognitive task analyses, perform statistical and qualitative analysis, and blend findings into formal reports to provide recommendations and digestible insights.

Required :

Bachelor’s degree in the Human Engineering field Human-Systems Engineering, Usability Engineering, Human Factors Engineering, Systems Engineering, Engineering Psychology, Human Computer Interaction (HCI), Industrial Engineering, or an adjacent field of study.

Masters or PhD. degree preferred.

• Knowledge in Human System Integration (HSI) planning and management
• Knowledge with Human-Centric Design / User-Centered Design methods and user experience research methodologies such as usability testing, customer interviews, heuristic analysis, task analysis, and surveys
• Knowledge of taking notional concepts and generating low- to high-fidelity software prototypes to be used in usability evaluations
• Knowledge in Human Perception and Cognition
• Experience in conducting tasks analyses
• Excellent communication skills, initiative, and a commitment to customer satisfaction
• Candidate must be willing to travel up to % of the time to remote locations across the must possess or be able to obtain(and be able to maintain) a security clearance

Desired :

• Military or DoD experience and familiarity with air missile defense systems
• Deep knowledge of an array of user research methodologies and proficiency with industry-standard design, prototyping, and user testing instrumentation and tools
• Experience with eye-tracking and other biosensors
• Strong skills in user interface design fundamentals such as knowledge of composition, form, shape, color, layout, and typography
