Strategic Objective :
Chargie, a premier provider of EV charging turnkey solutions, is in search of a skilled and driven Field Service Electrician to join our team.
This position involves addressing challenges with existing EV charger installations and conducting field maintenance. As the frontline technician responsible for onsite repair and upkeep of EV charging stations, you will play a critical role in ensuring the seamless operation of charging infrastructure.
Your expertise will directly contribute to the advancement and sustainability of electric vehicle adoption. The ideal candidate will possess robust electrical, mechanical and networking aptitude, adept troubleshooting skills, and the ability to identify and resolve system performance issues and ground faults.
Detailed Job Duties :
- Demonstrated proficiency in electrical, network, and mechanical troubleshooting.
- Ability to comply with OSHA Standards is essential.
- Ensure all site issues are documented in the work order system and promptly addressed.
- Installation and maintenance of new EVC systems at multi-dwelling units, retail, and commercial properties.
- Installation and configuration of Internet Gateways, Access Points, and other on-site network equipment based on Network Design provided by Network Engineering.
- Knowledge of various wireless distribution methods (LTE / Cellular, Wi-Fi).
- Prompt response to NOC-dispatched incident response based on SLA triage, with timely communication throughout the restoration efforts.
- Strong troubleshooting and problem-solving abilities are imperative.
- Proficiency in installing and configuring switches and wireless controllers.
- Proficiency in teamwork and the capacity to work autonomously are essential.
- Capability to work independently on projects and tasks with effectiveness.
- Conduct analysis and diagnosis of intricate networking issues.
- Interacts with customers to promote a positive experience.
Requirements
- Must possess 4+ years of equivalent experience in servicing electrical power equipment within the commercial or utility energy field and / or have completed formal electrical training.
- Ability to collect and organize data, and subsequently make informed decisions and implement effective solutions based on that data.
- Possession of a valid State Driver's License with a clean driving record.
- Current California Journeyman's License.
- Experience with low voltage network cabling including installation, termination, testing and diagnostics.
- Reliable transportation and willingness to travel as necessary.
- Strong oral and written communication skills, with exceptional attention to detail, goal orientation, and a passion for making a positive impact.
- Effective communication and interpersonal abilities are a must.
- Ability to meet the physical demands of the role, including accessing and working on building rooftops to install microwave equipment, and lifting weights of 45 pounds or more if required.
- Familiarity with Windows, Mac, and various handheld operating systems for wireless network settings troubleshooting with clients and drivers.
- Competence in network and IoT configurations.
Other Skills & Abilities
- Proficient in clear and professional written and verbal communication.
- Preferred experience with Electrical Vehicle Supply Equipment (EVSE).
- Experience configuring, installing and troubleshooting network equipment including wireless access points, switches and routers highly preferred.
- Highly organized and adept at managing multiple tasks concurrently.
- Thorough understanding of the latest NEC code.
- Familiarity with local electrical codes and safety regulations.
- Self-driven and at ease with working independently.
Salary Description
$65,000 - $90,000, depending on experience
