Accounting Manager
$75-95K DOE + excellent benefits and growth opportunity!
CPS Recruitment is looking for an Accounting Manager to join a well-respected team in the Rochester, NY area. As the Accounting Manager, you will apply your accounting expertise to analyze financial information and prepare reports.
You'll oversee the day-to-day operations of the Accounting department, with a focus on managing Accounts Payable.
Key Responsibilities :
- Lead, train, and mentor department associates, ensuring adherence to policies and procedures.
- Reconcile and approve invoices and balance sheet accounts.
- Ensure accurate entry of new vendors in purchasing and accounting systems.
- Review and correct errors in financial entries and documents.
- Prepare bank statement reconciliations and daily income journal entries.
- Generate financial statements, including Profit & Loss reports.
- Maintain fixed assets records and monitor inventory levels.
- Review expenditures and ensure budget compliance.
- Assist in preparing statements for independent auditors.
- Manage inter-company accounts for cash management and reporting.
- Perform tasks such as transmitting ACH files, reviewing aging reports, and reconciling accounts.
Qualifications :
- Bachelor's degree in Accounting, Finance, or related field.
- 5+ years of relevant experience or equivalent combination of education and experience.
- Proficient in Microsoft Office, with strong Excel skills.
- Knowledge of accounting software and financial systems.
- Strong analytical skills, attention to detail, and ability to work under pressure.
- Excellent communication and interpersonal skills.
- Ability to manage multiple tasks and prioritize effectively.
- Strong problem-solving skills and ability to make sound decisions.
- Proficiency with Microsoft Outlook, Excel, and Word.
- Experience with accounting software and financial systems; Sage 300, ProfitSword, and / or property management system software experience are a strong plus
