General Description :
The Family Support Coordinator is an integral part of the team working to increase family Protective Factors through parenting activities, coordinating day-to-day operations of the Family Resource Centers and ensuring the implementation of the Standards of Quality for Family Strengthening & Support.
Under the direct supervision of the Program Manager, the Family Support Coordinator will support families by providing Short Term case management to discover their strengths and areas of needs, set up and clean up parenting activities, manage and facilitate parent education and attend community meetings to share the services offered at the Family Resource Centers and Family Support Liaisons.
Essential Duties & Responsibilities
DESCRIPTION
Case Management : Provide families with case management and support to increase a family's Protective Factors. Case management responsibilities may include but are not limited to screening and interviewing potential clients and developing action plans and goals with families based on the family's identified needs.
Connect clients with resources including training and referrals to community-based services for positive parenting practices, family's social emotional wellbeing, services for housing stability, food security and both formal and informal family support.
Maintain a case load of 40 per year / 10 per quarter families by monitoring and recording clients' progress to ensure that goals and objectives are met.
Monitor and Assess Family satisfaction of the Program activities
Parent Engagement : Manage, Facilitate and support implementation of Parenting Education Strategy designed to increase parental knowledge of child development, positive parenting practices, community resources, personal wellbeing and increasing informal support systems.
Duties may include but are not limited to; before class set up, after class clean up, interacting with parents participating in activities or providing childcare during adult only learning sessions.
Maintain certification with Raising a Reader, Triple P and Opening Doors
Contract Compliance : Manage, oversee and report data to funders

Program Coordination and Community Engagement : Support other Family Resource Center staff, coordinate Parent Education with Family Resource Centers Center Coordinator and parent education and Family support programmatic supplies / materials and equipment inventory.

2. Identify and Participate in Community Networking Opportunities
3. Create and Implement Center Outreach Plan in collaboration with Center Coordinators
4. Maintain Relationship with Sub Contracts
Team Leadership : Lead, manage and direct multiple Liaisons within the standards and requirements set forth by funding sources including program budgets and documentation of standards and requirements.
Coordinate interviewing, hiring, evaluating, and training of personnel and volunteers according to policy and procedure.
1. Collaborate with Center Coordinators to Create and implement Liaisons monthly schedule
2. Monitor and approve Center staff timesheets.
3. Prioritize the well-being and development of team members, encourages collaboration, builds trust, and fosters a sense of community within the center.
Perform other related duties as assigned.
Qualifications Requirements

Education and / or Experience, Ability
Associate of Arts in Early Childhood, Social Services or closely related field preferred. Two years in family support, social services or early childhood and / or training;
or equivalent combination of education and experience may substitute for an associate degree. Ability to participate as a member of a team, including collaboration, cross-training, and mutual assistance.
- Experience in supervision of staff / volunteers
- Experience and comfort working with young children birth to 5
- Knowledge of human service systems and resources.
- Experience and ability to use computer hardware and Microsoft Office software
- Current CPR, First Aid certification and Current Level 1Fingerprint Card
- Clear criminal background and motor vehicle screening; must have a clear driving record for at least 39 months.
- Clear the Department of Economic Security, Central Registry Background Check.
- Good time management ability and ability to work independently.
- Obtain training as required by funder within 180 days of hire.
Ongoing Professional Development
- Certification in Standards of Quality for Family Support and Strengthening
- Participate in 25 hours of ongoing Professional Development Training per fiscal year. Training must be relevant to position.
Language Skills
Bilingual English / Spanish is strongly preferred. Ability to communicate clearly. Ability to listen and perceive need, working with people from diverse backgrounds non-judgmentally.
Ability to effectively present and represent LSS-SW and the program's needs to religious and community groups as well as others in the social services community.
Mathematical Skills
Good ability to calculate figures.
Reasoning Ability
Ability to define problems, collect data, evaluate information, draw conclusions, and take appropriate action based on this information.
Ability and confidence to make decisions when appropriate and when to solicit guidance from Regional Director.
