Job Summary and Responsibilities :

Summary : The Outside Plant (OSP) Engineering Quality Auditor is responsible for ensuring that all aspects of outside plant engineering projects adhere to company standards, industry regulations, and best practices.

This role involves conducting audits of OSP engineering plans and documentation to confirm compliance with safety, quality, and regulatory standards.

The OSP Quality Auditor will collaborate with engineering teams, installation teams, contractors, and other stakeholders to identify and rectify quality issues, improve processes, identify training needs and develop training materials to optimize customer satisfaction and profitability.

Essential Duties & Responsibilities include :

• Perform audits of OSP Engineering designs and deliverables, ensuring adherence to quality standards, codes, and project specifications.
• Ensure engineering deliverables meet requirements for state, county and local jurisdictional agencies, utilities, canal districts, railroads, and governmental authorities to obtain approval of proposed placement of OSP facilities.
• Ensure engineering deliverables consider factors such as route optimization, cost efficiency, and scalability.
• Identify and communicate OSP engineering quality issues and assist with resolutions.
• Facilitate and communicate engineering training and process changes needed to resolve identified issues.
• Prepare detailed reports on audit findings, including non-conformities, corrective actions, and performance trends.
• Develop and implement quality assurance procedures and policies to ensure that all OSP design work is carried out to the required standards and provide input and recommendations for continuous improvement.
• Collaborate with other departments and teams.

Qualifications :

• 5+ years of OSP Engineering experience or equivalent experience, education and / or training.
• Strong understanding of fiber optic network design principles, construction practices, and industry standards (e.g., GPON, NEC, NESC).
• Proficiency in CAD, GIS software and other engineering tools.
• Proficiency with Microsoft Word, Excel, Outlook, PowerPoint, and SharePoint.
• Must be resourceful, flexible and maintain the ability to react and respond quickly with a focus on accuracy and details.
• Excellent communication skills, with the ability to collaborate effectively with internal teams, external stakeholders, and regulatory agencies.
• Experience with permit applications / documents.
• Knowledge of relevant technology and equipment.
