Description

AP Professionals is working with a leading nonprofit company in Rochester to find a Financial Analyst. This role handles financial analysis and reporting, collaborates with department managers to resolve discrepancies, manages grant administration, and supports audit preparation, budget review, and fiscal technical assistance.

Responsibilities

  • Identify trends and variances, resolve budget discrepancies, and assist with year-end projections and reports for fiscal meetings.
  • Recommend spending strategies and cost-saving opportunities.
  • Provide solutions for financial issues faced by department managers and develop operating budgets.
  • Conduct account analysis, financial reporting, and error correction.
  • Ensure the accuracy of accounting data, account balances, and the timeliness of reports while making day-to-day financial decisions.
  • Manage contracts, including internal and external financial reporting for various local, state, and federal funding sources.
  • Oversee grant receivables and payables, prepare and submit reimbursement or advance requests, and manage the general ledger chart of accounts and project codes.
  • Work closely with staff and provide direction to finance teams, auditors, and board committees.
  • Communicate trends and projections, initiate corrective measures, review budgets, monitor expenses, and perform bank reconciliations.
  • Prepare financial records for audits and utilize MIP report writer for data extraction, retrieval, and reporting.
  • Create financial reports and spreadsheets as needed.

Education

Bachelor's degree in Accounting, Finance, or related field.

Experience

At least 2 years of accounting experience.

Knowledge, Skills, Abilities, and Other Characteristics

  • Strong information-processing skills, with the ability to research and analyze data from multiple sources.
  • Proficient in fund accounting software.
  • Proficient with Microsoft Office suite and Adobe, with advanced Excel skills.
  • Experience with MIP a plus.
