About the Position
The Department of Decision Sciences maintains a vacancy pool of qualified persons interested in temporary teaching positions in Poulsbo, WA for the teaching areas of applied business statistics, management information systems, and operations management.
In anticipation of possible openings throughout the academic year and summer sessions, applications are accepted continuously for temporary, part-time, non-tenure track teaching positions.
Positions may become available at any time and are typically filled on a quarterly basis.
Position Responsibilities :
Teach the equivalent of up to four courses per quarter (up to 16 classroom hours per week). The department, college and University value teaching, and expect Instructors to be excellent teachers;
to be current in their discipline; to engage students actively in learning through discussion, writing, and analysis; and to set high standards regarding course content.
Instructors are expected to provide students with feedback on their coursework and examinations, and to be available to students through regularly scheduled office hours in keeping with department policy.
Instructors must have their students evaluate their course(s) using the standard University evaluation forms, or others approved by the provost, and must make those evaluations available to the department chairs and faculty for annual review.
Required Qualifications
- MBA or master's degree in appropriate field
- Demonstrated successful experience in teaching
- Academically or professionally qualified in accordance with college and AACSB standards
- Ability to work effectively with diverse students, faculty and staff and to teach an increasingly diverse student population that includes students traditionally underrepresented in business fields.
Preferred Qualifications
Experience teaching at the undergraduate level
