TheMedical Billing Specialist is responsible for managing the billingprocess for a healthcare practice ensuring accurate and timelysubmission of claims and payments.
This role is critical inmaintaining the financial health of the organization and ensuringcompliance with insuranceregulations.
KeyResponsibilities :
- Prepareand submit accurate claims to insurance companies and governmentprograms.
- Verifypatient insurance coverage and benefits before services arerendered.
- Reviewand post payments adjusting accounts asnecessary.
- Followup on unpaid claims and resolve discrepancies withpayers.
- Maintainaccurate and organized billing records anddocumentation.
- Generatebilling reports and analyze trends for improved financialperformance.
- Ensurecompliance with healthcare regulations and billingpractices.
- Stayupdated on changes in billing codes and insurancepolicies.
Requirements
- Associatesdegree in Medical Billing Health Information Management or relatedfieldpreferred.
- Previousexperience in medical billing or coding with a strong understandingof healthcare reimbursementprocesses.
- Proficientin medical billing software and electronic health records (EHR)systems.
- Strongattention to detail and analyticalskills.
