Associate Process Safety Engineer - Louisiana

Our Client is an internationally recognized American exporter of liquefied natural gas. The company's Louisiana-based export projects service the global demand for North American natural gas and support the long-term development of clean and reliable North American energy supplies.

Using reliable, proven technology in an innovative plant design configuration, our Client's industry leading plant design will replace traditional designs as it allows for the same efficiency and operational reliability at significantly lower cost.

They are seeking a Process Safety - Associate Engineer to join their team in Louisiana . This role reports to the Manager, Process Safety and will be responsible for ensuring that operations are conducted safely, efficiently, and effectively.

Key Responsibilities :

• Support process safety management elements such as MOC, PSSR, PHA, building siting, process design.
• Provide support on the communication of process safety risks.
• Day to day support of Process Safety Barrier Health reporting.
• Attend Process Hazard Assessments (PHAs) and Layers of Protection Analysis (LOPA) and assist in managing associated action items.
• Assist in the management of process safety event (PSE) investigations.
• Support assessments in the following processes :
• Car sealing
• Procedures - initial start-up and SOP and red line revisions
• Process Safety Events
• Permit to Work
• SIMOPs
• Inhibits / Bypasses
• Safety Critical Element management
• Pre-startup Safety Reviews
• Monitoring process safety metrics and analyzing data to identify trends and outliers.

Qualifications :

• Bachelor's degree in Chemical / Process or Mechanical Engineering. Based on experience, other Engineering disciplines will be considered.
• 1-3 years of experience working as an Engineer in a process plant environment would be a plus.
• Demonstrated understanding of the fundamentals of process safety.
• Engineering graduates with a demonstrable passion to pursue a career in process safety would be considered.
• Must maintain a Transportation Worker Identification Credential (TWIC) card in good standing status.
